Pretty much every time I go swimming I think of my friend Annette, who always said: You know you've become an old lady when you refuse to get your hair wet.
As a result I ALWAYS get my hair wet when I swim. The only trouble with this is that sometimes, like if my hair looks particularly good, whether to go swimming becomes a big decision.
That was the case recently when, if I do say so myself, my hair looked fabulous (this happens when the stars, my body chemistry, and my sampling of available hair care products align), but I was staying at the beach and really felt that I ought to play in the waves.
Readers will be glad to know playing in the waves won out. Also, there was no one around at the time who actually cared what my hair looked like.
Anyway -- cheers to Annette for her excellent advice! Now, ladies of a certain age, get out their and dunk your heads!
